The final round of the MIR Finetwork Texking Championship wrapped up with an exhilarating double-header at Cartagena, Spain. Heading into the finale 16th in the Championship, Jackson was determined to secure valuable points.
Saturday saw Jackson secure 16th in qualifying, then race to 12th and 11th, setting a personal best in the 1:52 bracket along the way. Sunday brought cooler temps and tighter races, with Jackson qualifying 12th and finishing Races 3 and 4 in 9th and 10th, reaching as high as 7th during some intense battles.
Against some of the world’s best juniors, Jackson’s impressive results bumped him to 12th in the Championship, despite competing in only 6 of 7 rounds. Reflecting on the season, Jackson said, “I’ve learned so much this year! There were some tough times, but I had so many awesome battles and races along the way. I loved every minute of it!”
Glenn Macdonald added, “This year has been a huge learning curve. We’ve had incredible opportunities and support from MIR and Gaman Racing as well as a group of incredible sponsors. We will continue to work hard and race on the world stage. Thank you to everyone who supported us!”
Jackson clinched the Victorian Junior Road Race Championship and the Hartwell Club Series on his GP85cc, capping off an incredible 2024 season.
