🏍️ Race Day 🇪🇸
It was a huge experience for Jackson at Round 1 of the MIR Moto 5 Spanish Championship, at Zuera Spain.
Jackson had qualified the previous day, 12th on the grid for 2 x 13 lap races on Sunday. In warm-up, Jackson crashed at turn three on lap one due to a mechanical issue, causing significant bike damage – but importantly, Jackson was not injured. All hands were on deck to turn around the bike within the hour and have him on the line for Race 1.
Naturally tentative in the first few turns, Jackson soon dialled in and set another PB. Some gutsy passing moves saw him finish the race in an impressive 10th position, a mere 0.1 of 9th – such close racing!
Race 2 quickly approached, and Jackson was keen to get the job done, loving every minute! A huge move mid race saw Jackson round up two riders in one turn with yet another gutsy move around the outside. The racing was tough and when Jackson put on another solid pass, his fellow racer clipped his rear wheel causing him to crash. A DNF for Race 2 was unfortunate but thankfully cleared by medical soon afterwards.
To all of our supporters - a sincere thank you for this opportunity. There was so much learning and we can’t wait for the next round in a few weeks!
Stay tuned!
